IRENE M. COCCARO, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Bayfront Health-Port Charlotte.
She was born February 17, 1927 in Jersey City, New Jersey and moved to Port Charlotte from there in 1970. She was a Roman Catholic and in later years attended the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda.
Survived by her loving family, two daughters, Maryann (John) Gaconi of Port Charlotte and Dorothy (Chuck) Neels of Fenton, MO; a son, Peter J. (Beth) Coccaro, Jr. of Punta Gorda, FL; a sister, Mary Russo of Deptford, NJ; a brother, Anthony Yodonise of North Port, FL; and 8 grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by husband, Peter J. Coccaro who died in 1993, a sister and two brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM, Friday, May 29, 2015 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Rev. Brian James will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte. Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, 21075 Quesada Ave., Port Charlotte, FL 33952 or the American Cancer Society, 3391 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33952 or www.cancer.org
